A short-form IT assessment for an incoming Head of IT
Context
A UK life sciences organisation was bringing in a new permanent Head of IT and wanted to give the incoming hire a clear picture of the current state before they walked in the door. The leadership team needed an honest, structured view of what was working, what wasn’t, and what was worth tackling first.
A 4-week diagnostic engagement. We assessed the IT estate across the five pillars of the Aesyros Framework, interviewed key stakeholders, and reviewed the current operational state. The work was scoped tight from the start: deliverable, defined endpoint, clean handover.
We delivered a structured operational runbook giving the incoming Head of IT a complete view of current state, gaps, and immediate priorities. The leadership team had clarity on what to expect, and the new hire had a foundation to build on from day one. Engagement closed on schedule. No scope creep, no extended retainer attempts.
PE-backed services • £33m revenue
IT strategy and core platform delivery
Context
A £33m PE-backed services business carved out from a larger group. New ownership, new operational model, and an IT estate that had grown organically over years. Leadership needed a 3-year strategic direction, and they needed it executed alongside live operations.
A full transformation programme. We defined the IT strategy aligned to commercial and operational objectives, restructured the delivery model into Core (resilience and governance) and Value Creation (growth and analytics) portfolios, and led the delivery of multiple programmes including Salesforce CRM migration, IT service desk implementation, and IT/OT integration architecture.
SLA violations reduced from 37 percent to under 0.5 percent within six months. Third-party technology spend reduced by 20 percent through consolidation and vendor rationalisation. NIST and CIS cybersecurity frameworks implemented, increasing cyber maturity by 30 percent. The IT function was reshaped from reactive support to a strategic enabler of commercial growth.
